Marty Molloy Rooted in a strong ethic of service, Marty comes to Greater Philadelphia Cares with over ten years of experience building strong, effective partnerships and relationships with individuals, institutions and organizations. Whether it was building capacity and opportunities with YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School, teaching “Heart of the City” a service-learning course at Chestnut Hill College or managing people and programs at Project HOME, Marty’s focus is and has always been on building stronger communities. Rounding out his experience is several years experience in training, event marketing, political and TANF work.
Marty completed his master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge with the thesis, The Civic Engagement of America’s Emerging Generations in 2006. Marty and his wife Meredith live in Philadelphia and have two wonderful children Elise (4) and Luke (2).
Terry Baxter
grew up in Atlanta and attended the University of South Carolina, majoring in secondary education, with a minor in
theater. She loves gardening, her 28 year old son, and life in general! Terry has a strong background in the
non-profit world, having worked at length at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, then, after moving here in 1982,
spending eight years with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. After moving to the corporate world for some years, she
wanted to work with a non-profit again, but this time on a much more grass root level; she joined the staff of
Greater Philadelphia Cares as Manager of Annual Events and Volunteer Recruitment in 2001. Terry is now focusing
on individual volunteer recruitment and also works closely with our volunteer leaders, both for calendar projects
and annual events.
Ellen Firestone has been with Greater Philadelphia Cares since 2006 and brings over 20 years experience in Finance, Production and Human Resources. Ellen oversees the organization's Finance, Communications, and Involvement divisions and has been instrumental in improving the quality of our Reading STARS program. She has a unique blend of corporate and non-profit experience which proves invaluable to GPC. Ellen has been an active volunteer for many years including six years as an advisor for Junior Achievement. She holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA from DeSales University.
Micki Greenstein
joined Greater Philadelphia Cares in the summer of 2005 as a volunteer and he is currently working as office
manger making sure the office is running smoothly. He is taking courses at Philadelphia Community College
to pursue an associate's degree in general studies. Micki serves as a member on the Pennsylvania Rehab
Council where he advocates for people with disabilities to succeed in the community. He has been disabled
for fifteen years due to a diving accident. During his free time, Micki loves to play chess.
Melissa Kuhar joined Greater Philadelphia Cares as a project manager in September 2008. She has a B.S. in Biology, is certified to teach secondary education biology in Pennsylvania, and has a Master's degree in Organization Leadership (M.S.O.L.) from Cabrini College. She joins us bringing over 8 years of R&D experience from the pharmaceutical industry. Melissa has a strong passion for learning and continuing education. She enjoys traveling, going to the beach, cooking, hiking and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
Christine Waite joined Greater Philadelphia Cares as an Annual Events Manager in September of 2007. She has her B.S. and M.A. in Exercise Science from Adelphi University. Since her graduation, Christine has worked in the corporate and private sectors for 15 years initiating fitness and wellness programs. She has two children, Rachel and Derek, who keep her very busy. Christine has recently switched over to the role of Project Manger, linking volunteers with agencies that meet their service needs.
Mary Ann Pallante brings 17 years of experience in small business establishment and management. Formerly a Children's Professional Dance Teacher for 15 years in Red Bank, New Jersey, Mary Ann switched to an administrative career in the healthcare field in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Learning about Greater Philadelphia Cares' endeavor to make a change within the community with volunteerism and children's education, Mary Ann jumped on board in the summer of 2007. Serving as the Education Manager, she combines her communication, organizational and creative abilities in establishing and managing relationships with schools and districts. Mary Ann graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Liberal Arts Degree from Ocean County College in New Jersey.
Stacy Weeks recently graduated from Western Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Services. After spending a year maintaining agency relations and planning events for a local Food Bank she realized that her niche would be in the non-profit world. Community outreach has always been very close to her heart so she is delighted to be a member of the GPC team. In her leisure time she enjoys running, cooking, and traveling with friends and family.
