Greater Philadelphia Cares coordinates large-scale events each year. These Annual Events are a great
way to get involved with Greater Philadelphia Cares. One day can truly make a difference!
Philadelphia Cares Day
Improve our city's public schools by painting classrooms, restoring playgrounds, and creating green spaces
at more than 100 learning centers!
Spring Park Clean-Up
Volunteers, mark your calendars! Our spring event - formerly known as Fairmount Park Day - will be taking place throughout our wonderful city from 9am to 12 noon on Saturday, May 8th.
Corporate Leadership Breakfast
Civic leaders and corporate partners gather to celebrate the spirit of corporate and community collaboration
with Greater Philadelphia Cares.
Principal For A Day
Local corporate and community leaders exit the boardroom for the classroom during Principal For A Day. In partnership
with the School District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Education Fund and Merrill Lynch, Greater Philadelphia Cares
recruits some of the region's most influential leaders to "shadow" urban administrators
throughout the district.
Philadelphia Marathon
Be part of the Philadelphia Marathon, a world-class athletic event! Be among some two thousand volunteers on hand to support the race. There are opportunities to assist with pre-race activities such as packet stuffing, registration, expo, and the information booth. Race day activities will include course monitors, support at the start, finish, and other parts of the course.
Principal Partnerships
Through Greater Philadelphia Cares’ Principal Partnerships program, there are a number of ways to continue
(or start!) your relationship and make a difference at a Philadelphia public school.
Adopt-A-Family
Each winter holiday season, the Adopt-a-Family program identifies families in need and matches them with charitable
individuals or organizations.
